About Us
Who
The directors, Bonnie and Michael Zaleski, are natives of Palos Verdes, graduates of UCLA and UC Berkeley, respectively, and founders of Think Tank and the Tutoring & Learning Center. Bonnie taught Advanced Algebra at the high school level in Marin County, and has tutored math and science for the past 22 years. Their first center in Marin County has helped hundreds of students of all ages achieve their academic goals for the past 12 years.
The directors moved in 2004 with their four children back home to the PV Peninsula and are very excited to bring their successful academic guidance to PV. Both avid divers, when not at Think Tank, Bonnie can most probably be found under water taking photos of beautiful sea life (come see her gallery in Think Tank), while Mike on his off-time enjoys spearing them. (Opposites attract!) The staff at Think Tank is comprised of a very competent group of teachers and tutors hand-selected for their ability to teach, motivate, and make learning productive and enjoyable.
What
Think Tank is a unique tutoring center for students K-12th grade and adults. Through one-on-one and small group tutorials, Think Tank offers students the academic support they need to improve their grades and self-esteem.
Think Tank specializes in identifying concepts that a student missed or does not understand. Tutors re-teach the material in a one-on-one or small group setting (2-5 students).
The instructors focus on 'past, present, future' material, looking for gaps in understanding, reviewing and previewing as needed.
For elementary school-aged children, Think Tank tutors can help with general study skills, homework help, verbal skills, math skills, sciences, languages, and more.
For intermediate and high school-aged students, Think Tank tutors can help with all of the above and Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trig/Pre-Calc, Calculus, Statistics, Business Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Life Sciences, Writing, Grammar Skills, Reading Comprehension, and Test Preparation, including SAT 1 and 2 exams, ACT, AP Exams, Private High School entrance exams.
When
Weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings are all possible for tutoring.
Think Tank can customize any scheduling needs. Tutoring is by appointment only.
